Isolation Planning

Planning a significant engineering or rail maintenance project often includes isolating overhead electric power wires and railways.

A safe working window

TL Rail & Construction can provide a designated isolation planner to handle all conversations and agreements with outside parties in order to guarantee that a window of safe working is established for on-site employees.

As part of a possession planning programme, we can offer this service as a stand-alone system or we can incorporate isolation planning into a package of services.

Adjacent line opening

TL Rail & Construction is able to provide this service by utilising our skilled ALO planners and ALO responsible managers where any railway line that is open to traffic could possibly be fouled by any vehicles, including OTP, construction plant, HIABs, cranes, etc. or the loads associated with them, an ALO plan is required.

The ALO Planning Service

The ALO planner for TL Rail & Construction will cooperate with all relevant stakeholders, including Possession planners, OTM/OTP providers, and the construction team, to build a dependable ALO working approach.

Visiting the job site to assess the risks and dangers, the strategy and approach, the placement of the plant, the allowed operating limits, and the fouling point. The ALO planner will make all essential measurements, such as the location of the plant, its distance from the closest open line(s), and the projected limit of work measured from the fouling point, to ensure that a full risk assessment and relevant control measures are defined.

The ALO accountable Manager from TL Rail & Construction will approve the proposed restrictions and where necessary, communicate with the ALO virtual panel for approval.

Additionally, TL Rail & Construction is able to offer an ALO site coordinator to oversee the thorough briefing of the site team and ensure that all plant and loads that are working ALO have undergone testing, implementation, and monitoring of the control mechanisms outlined on the work plan.
